What the available records say
Summaries below draw on historical posts and the City records linked under Sources. An agenda item is a proposal; minutes are the record of Council action. Later developments may not yet be reflected here.
Property-tax comparison
The October 19, 2026 millage explainer compares 2025 property-tax figures. It reports Coopersville’s own levy as 13 mills and distinguishes that levy from combined taxes charged by multiple taxing bodies. These figures are specific to the year being discussed.
Incentives and districts
The March 26, 2026 explainer describes how Industrial Facilities Tax exemptions work. The older posts cover Brownfield TIF and DDA financing. These programs have different rules and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Proposals versus action
The May 2026 preview discusses a proposed FY 2026–27 budget. It remains an agenda preview in the archive; consult subsequent meeting minutes for the adopted figures.
