What the available records say

Summaries below draw on historical posts and the City records linked under Sources. An agenda item is a proposal; minutes are the record of Council action. Later developments may not yet be reflected here.

Water project funding

The September 14, 2026 minutes record approval of an agreement for a $17 million state grant associated with the water transmission main and storage tank. This is not a finding that every construction contract or every additional financing source has been secured.

October water proposals

The October 12 agenda and October 11 preview include a proposed $4.97 million 68th Avenue water-main award and continued discussion of an approximately $8 million elevated storage tank. Verify subsequent minutes before describing the October proposals as approved.

Regional sewer transition

The September 14 city-manager report describes the transition of wastewater flows to the regional SERFM system. The October preview discusses continuing oversight and closure work at the former treatment facility.

Questions for the next update

  • Which contracts were actually awarded at and after the October council meeting?
  • What is the final funding plan if proposed outside money for the water tower is not awarded?
  • Which treatment-plant closure milestones, permits and long-term maintenance obligations remain?
